1. About these terms
These terms set out how Signature Cleaning Services ("Signature", "the business") works with its clients, and what's expected on both sides. By booking a clean — through the website, by email, by phone, or by message — clients are agreeing to these terms.
Signature Cleaning Services is a sole trader business operated from Hartpury, Gloucestershire, United Kingdom.
2. Bookings & payment
2.1 Booking confirmation
A booking is provisional until Signature has confirmed the slot in writing (by email, text, or WhatsApp) and the 25% deposit has been received. Slots are not held by form submission alone.
2.2 Deposits
A deposit equal to 25% of the total booking value is required to secure a slot. The deposit is processed via Stripe. Once paid, the booking is confirmed.
2.3 Final payment
The remaining 75% balance is due within 48 hours of the clean being completed, payable via the secure Stripe payment link sent on the day of, or shortly after, the clean.
2.4 Late payment
Balances unpaid after 7 days from the clean date may attract a £15 administration fee and interest at 4% above the Bank of England base rate, as permitted under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where applicable. Signature reserves the right to refuse future bookings to clients with unpaid balances.
3. Cancellation & rescheduling
3.1 Cancellations by the client
Clients may cancel a booking at any time. The deposit refund policy is as follows:
- More than 72 hours before the booking: deposit refunded in full.
- Between 24 and 72 hours before the booking: 50% of the deposit refunded.
- Less than 24 hours before the booking, or no-show: deposit retained in full.
3.2 Rescheduling by the client
Clients may reschedule once free of charge with at least 48 hours' notice. Rescheduling within 48 hours may incur a £25 administration fee, deducted from the next clean's total.
3.3 Cancellations by Signature
In the rare event Signature must cancel — due to illness, vehicle breakdown, weather, or any unforeseen circumstance — clients will be notified as early as possible and the deposit refunded in full or applied to a rescheduled clean, at the client's preference.
4. The clean itself
4.1 Access & readiness
Clients are responsible for ensuring Signature can access the property on the agreed date and time. Where keys, access codes, or letting agent contacts are required, these must be confirmed at least 24 hours in advance.
Properties should be reasonably ready for cleaning — surfaces clear of large amounts of personal possessions, kitchens free of significant amounts of dirty washing-up, and so on. Where additional time is required to clear a property before cleaning can begin, an hourly clearing charge of £25 may apply.
4.2 Scope of clean
The clean delivered will match the booking confirmation, including the property size, service type, and any added extras. Items not included in the booking will not be cleaned unless specifically requested at the time, subject to availability and additional charge.
4.3 Re-clean policy
If a client is not satisfied with any part of the clean, they must notify Signature within 24 hours of the clean being completed, with photographs where possible. Signature will return to address the issue free of charge within 7 days, provided the complaint is reasonable and within the original scope of the booking.
4.4 Items not cleaned
Signature will not clean: bodily fluids beyond ordinary household cleaning; biohazardous material; pet waste beyond ordinary disposal; or any property condition deemed unsafe. Where such conditions are encountered, Signature reserves the right to halt the clean and the deposit will be retained.
5. Damage, loss, and liability
5.1 Insurance
Signature Cleaning Services holds public liability insurance. Details available on request.
5.2 Reporting damage
Any damage caused during a clean must be reported by the client within 24 hours of the clean being completed. After this window, claims cannot be processed.
5.3 Items of value
Clients are advised to remove or secure items of significant monetary or sentimental value before the clean. Signature accepts no liability for damage to items that were known to be fragile or valuable but not flagged to Signature in advance.
5.4 Pre-existing damage
Signature accepts no responsibility for pre-existing damage, wear, stains, or conditions that existed before the clean. Photographic evidence may be requested before commencing clean for end-of-tenancy bookings.
5.5 Limitation of liability
Signature's maximum liability for any single booking is limited to the value of that booking, except where liability cannot be limited by law (such as in the case of death or personal injury caused by negligence).
6. End of Tenancy specifics
End of Tenancy cleans are designed to meet estate-agent inspection standards and include a deposit-back guarantee, subject to the following:
- The property is empty of all personal belongings and rubbish at the time of cleaning.
- The clean is photographed on completion. These photographs constitute proof of clean condition at handover.
- Where a deposit dispute arises after handover, Signature will return free of charge within 14 days of handover to address any issues raised by the inventory clerk or letting agent that are within the original scope of the clean.
- Signature is not liable for issues outside the cleaning scope (e.g. property repairs, missing items, structural damage).
7. The Signature Experience
The Signature Experience add-on (£35) includes hand-folded towel art, fresh-cut blooms (subject to seasonal availability), a hand-written welcome card, and the use of premium products. Signature reserves the right to substitute floral elements with seasonal alternatives where availability is limited.
8. Pricing & quotes
Prices listed on the website are accurate at the time of booking. Signature reserves the right to update pricing for future bookings, but confirmed bookings will be honoured at the price shown at the time of booking confirmation.
Bespoke quotes (large properties, post-renovation, specialist requirements) are valid for 30 days from the date issued.
9. Working with Signature
9.1 Conduct
Signature is a small business, and its team works with respect, professionalism, and discretion. Clients are asked to treat Signature staff with the same courtesy. Any abusive, threatening, or harassing behaviour will result in the immediate termination of the booking, with no refund.
9.2 Privacy
Photographs taken during a clean are used solely for the client's records (e.g. End of Tenancy completion proof) unless explicit written permission is given for marketing use.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
